#shorts — CNC router machine cutting out an Acorn shaped trivet from 1″ walnut wood scrap piece. I was using 1/16″ in bit for this cut, in order to get into all the fine details. source
If anyone knows exactly what type of pine this is let me know below, it’s cuts well and has a really nice contrasting grain. source

I have been flattening this Macrocarpa slab on my KEW 8×4 CNC machine, the carbide inserts really made light work of this soft wood and made some lovely big shavings, it also smells amazing, I thinknyou could get away woth doing 6mm or even more withbthsi but I keep to 3/4 to be safe. source
